The lifestyle of the laptop user tends to be chaotic and fast-paced: bustling through airports, sweating it out on the tables of cafes and restaurants or slaving away at the library during an all night cram session to polish the dissertation. The laptop goes where you go, providing that essential link to communication, data and files. Inevitably, accidents happen, and it always seems that those accidents find your laptop with ease---in particular, the keyboard. Coffee, soda, water, they all seem to pick the perfect opportunity to end up on the Acer laptop keyboard; however, with a few simple strategies, you can dry your Acer Aspire 5538 keyboard in no time.
Shut down your laptop immediately upon spilling any liquids on it. Upon shutdown, take a dry, soft cloth and blot up the liquid. Refrain from wiping the liquid, because this spreads it around the Acer Aspire 5538 keyboard and into the crevices.
Disconnect the power cord, and remove any peripherals attached to the computer. Then tilt the laptop on its side so that all excess liquid drains out. Never shake the laptop to remove liquid, as this may spread it around, risking further damage.
Turn the laptop upside down, once the liquid has slowed to intermittent drips. This allows the rest of the liquid to drain from the Acer Aspire 5538 keyboard. Once all liquid has drained from the laptop, use a hair dryer or a fan to blow over the keyboard gently to finish the drying process. If using a hair dryer, use the lowest heat setting and hold it at least 6 inches from the surface of the laptop. Keep the hair dryer moving back and forth over the keyboard in a gentle sweeping motion, or if using a fan, put it on the oscillating setting.
